*FILM SOCIETY*
Friday, 2 October | 7:00 PM – 12:00 AM
📍 The Plaza, Uptown Dubai | *Free with registration*

*FILM IT LIKE YOU MEAN IT*
*A Short Film Competition by Film Society DXB*, celebrating independent filmmakers, emerging voices and filmmakers with something to say.

We’re not looking for one particular genre, style or type of story. Drama, comedy, documentary, experimental, animation, horror, romance, thriller, sci-fi, or anything in between, *all genres are welcome.*

*What matters to us is voice & style of the film.*

We want to discover filmmakers who have a perspective, an idea, a story or a feeling they’re compelled to put on screen. Whether you're an established independent filmmaker or making your first serious short, this is an opportunity to have your work seen by a community that genuinely cares about film.

You don't need a large production budget, an established career or a long list of credits.

*WHY SUBMIT?*
Film Society DXB is an independent film community built around watching, discussing and connecting through cinema.

*Film It Like You Mean It is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to:*

- Have their work screened to a live audience in Dubai
- Be discovered by a community of filmmakers, creatives and film lovers
- Receive recognition from the Film Society jury
- Compete for the Film Society Award
- Connect with other emerging filmmakers and creatives
- Become part of the Film Society community

Most importantly, we want to create a space where independent filmmakers can show their work, find their audience and start a conversation.

*THE BOTTOM LINE*
Don't make the film you think people want to see.
Make the film you need to make.
Film it like you mean it.
